When an old train station in the countryside just outside Manhattan became available for lease, a client with a country house nearby was interested. They envisioned a cafe and gathering space, one that would serve both locals and commuters as well as provide entertainment, and commissioned a design.
The design included a cafe inside the station that offered prepared food and drinks during the day and entertainment a few evenings a week. The covered portico was enclosed to provide outdoor seating during inclement weather, and part of the parking lot was used for outdoor dining at other times.
